“El amor te hiere como el rayo”-FAKIR
Directed by Arturo Manrique
“El Amor te hiere como el rayo”…
This experimental music video follows three characters, a man caught between dreaming and waking, and two women who seem to guide, challenge, and transform his perception of reality. As they encounter one another, the video unfolds through a series of strange, esoteric, and dreamlike episodes, where narrative logic gives way to atmosphere, intuition, and symbolic imagery.
Inspired by tarot archetypes and the language of lucid dreams, the piece embraces ambiguity and surprise. Rather than following a conventional storyline, it invites the viewer into an unpredictable visual journey, where each scene opens a new door and the destination remains uncertain. Created with complete artistic freedom from the artist, the video seeks to immerse the audience in a world that feels both mysterious and emotionally instinctive.
Director’s statement
I approached this music video as a dream rather than a traditional narrative. From the beginning, I wanted the piece to move through intuition, symbols, and atmosphere, allowing the viewer to experience uncertainty in the same way the main character does: never fully knowing whether he is awake, dreaming, or somewhere in between.
The video is inspired by lucid dreams, esoteric imagery, and the archetypal language of tarot. The three characters function less as conventional protagonists and more as forces within a shifting inner world, guiding, disturbing, and transforming one another as the journey unfolds.
“The artist gave us complete creative freedom, which allowed the video to become an open visual experiment. My intention was not to explain everything, but to create a cinematic experience that feels unpredictable, mysterious, and emotionally instinctive, inviting each viewer to find their own meaning within the images and music.”
